Megan has given me great advice during art fairs in New York and Miami and I ended up buying art that I enjoy very much. The fact that it went up in value is a plus that cannot be ignored.I have also enjoyed her “art experiences“ in museums and galleries to a degree that is hard to express. Let’s just say that she has the knowledge, the expertise, and the business skills that make a good advisor but to me she offers something else; she creates a world with her story-telling skills that makes the experience a unique one.
Megan Connolly is among the world’s leading introducers, interpreters and contextualizers of contemporary Chinese art. My wife and I have worked with Megan as a consultant in a number of capacities in Beijing and New York. Most recently, she led us and a group of friends on a personalized, customized tour of the Guggenheim’s pathbreaking show, Art and China after 1989: Theater of the World. We are reasonably familiar with recent Chinese art movements and artists, but I am not sure how we could have begun to absorb the complexities, controversies, subtleties, and nuances of this important Guggenheim show without Megan’s expert help. I would encourage anyone seeking to understand contemporary art at any level of knowledge to utilize Megan as a resource to enrich their experience with one of the world’s most vibrant artistic cultures.
Megan’s discerning eye and access to the galleries’ back rooms (unavailable to the public) has allowed my husband and me to initiate an emerging art collection that has brought us much joy. What I appreciate most is her ability to adapt and understand each client’s style to present works most suited to their taste and budget while maintaining a feel for valuable upcoming artists, those more established, as well as big name artists...her ability to coordinate and handle all the back end (negotiations, framing, shipping and insurance nationally and internationally, etc.) has made worldwide purchases easily accessible.
