The Guggenheim Museum is internationally known for its modern and contemporary art collection and incredible architecture. We take the museum as a case study to contextualize the development of modern museums through a curated walk that explores the museum’s permanent collection, contextualizing the works of masters, like Degas, Gauguin, Kandinsky, Picasso, and more. We also discover the temporary exhibitions. Currently on view are Giacometti and One Hand Clapping. Giacometti features a diverse array of works by Alberto Giacometti, ranging from his signature bronze sculptures to plaster sculptures and drawings that have never been seen publicly in this country. On the other hand, One Hand Clapping, introduces work from a group of contemporary Chinese artists who consider the impact of globalization on our relationship with the future.
