Cheng Guangfeng (b. 1983) is an emerging artist from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, which is an important industrial city in China. He studied 3D Design at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore where he specialized in Ceramics. Since moving back to his hometown, Cheng Guangfeng’s practice has shifted towards performance art and site-specific conceptual installations that incorporate sound, sculpture, drawing, and light to reflect on personal memory and a universal human fragility. Combining attention to detail and scientific precision with a satirical humor, his work is deeply influenced by growing up in a postindustrial Chinese city.
ChART Contemporary produced Open House: Oh It’s Like That - a new installation created by Cheng Guangfeng on November 15, 2009.
